Shameik Moore is the voice behind Miles Morales in the Oscar-winning film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. For his portrayal, Moore received countless awards and nominations, including an Online Film & Television Association Award.
Starting off as a dancer, twelve-year-old Moore was an active participant in the Atlanta Dance Invasion Showcase. His dancing him to perform in music videos for the likes of Keri Hilson and Soulja Boy, to name a few.
Transitioning to acting, Moore’s debuted on-screen in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Shortly after, he guest-starred on the BET sitcom, Reed Between the Lines, and even graduated to the big screen with movies like The Watsons Go to Birmingham and Joyful Noise, alongside stars like Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton.
With his growing career, Moore began to receive more prominent roles. On Cartoon Network, he was a series regular in the sketch-comedy show, Incredible Crew. Fast-forward two years, Moore debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, starring in the movie, Dope. His portrayal earned him a nod from the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and Indiewire named him on their “12 major Breakouts of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival” list. Additionally, he grew recognition as a musician, given him and Pharrell Williams collaborated on the movie’s soundtrack.
Moore starred in Netflix’s The Get Down before landing his major Marvel role; Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was so successful, it called for a sequel. After he starred in Wu-Tang: An American Saga, Moore appeared in the Netflix Christmas movie, Let It Snow—for the latter, his single, “First Christmas (That I Loved You),” appeared on the soundtrack, garnering over a million streams on Spotify, to date.
Outside of soundtracks, Moore also releases his original music on all streaming platforms, with hundreds of thousands of streams.
