Shane McAnally, also recognised as Shane Mack, is an American country musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. He has produced 41 number 1 singles in the country music charts and has also won three Grammys.
At 14, he appeared on Star Search, singing Dan Hill’s “Sometimes When We Touch.” That experience prompted him to move to Branson, Missouri, the next year, then Nashville at age 19 and then to LA at 26. When Shane eventually moved back to Nashville in 2007, his songwriting career took off. The next year, Lee Ann Womack released one of his songs, “Last Call.” That single put his name on the map and from that point on, he began songwriting and producing for huge country artists such as Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Scotty McCreery, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Hunt, and so many more – proving himself to be one of the best country songwriters and producers in the world. In 2015, Billboard named him the Hot Country Songwriter of the Year including naming him Billboard Power Player. He can also be recognised for being one of the on-screen talent producers for NBC’s competition reality show Songland, which sets out to give undiscovered songwriters a chance to create a hit.
Shane McAnally has shaped the sound of commercial Country music more than any other songwriter and producer in the last decade. McAnally has won five incredibly coveted awards for his work, including that of a Grammy in 2014 and 2019 for Best Country Song, Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year in 2014, Academy of Country Music Award for Album of the Year in 2014 and Songwriter of the year at the Academy of Country music in 2019.
