United States Shannon Gunz, a prominent radio personality, has built a career spanning nearly 15 years with SiriusXM, hosting on multiple rock music channels.
Shannon Gunz began her career with SiriusXM in 2006 and currently hosts on 3 channels: Octane, Ozzy's Boneyard, and Turbo. She has been with the company for nearly 15 years, also serving as a video host and manager.

Born in Prescott, Arizona, Shannon Gunz began her academic journey at Mesa Community College (MCC) in 2002, initially pursuing an Interior Design degree. A turning point occurred during an interpersonal communications class, which shifted her focus towards communications. She found an interest in understanding human relationships and conversations. This led her to pursue a degree in communications, graduating from MCC with an Associate of Arts in General Education in 2005. Prompted by a roommate’s suggestion that her outgoing personality and love for music would make her a great talk show host, Gunz decided to pursue a career in radio.
Following her graduation from MCC, Shannon Gunz transferred to Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. For a required internship during her studies, she sought an opportunity in New York, which led her to Sirius Satellite Radio, later known as SiriusXM. In a memorable interview with Steve Covino and Rich Davis, she secured an internship. Due to her authentic Arizona background and personality, she was given an on-air opportunity during her first week, an unusual occurrence for an intern. She decided to remain in New York, transferring to Seton Hall University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2007.
After completing her education, Shannon Gunz continued her career with SiriusXM, a relationship that has now lasted almost 15 years. Her work at SiriusXM includes hosting on Ozzy’s Boneyard and Turbo stations during the week, and the Octane station on weekends. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, she actively interviewed artists at music festivals and concerts. During 2020, she adapted to the challenges of remote production, continuing to create content as bands found ways to record and perform virtually. Her professional life in music extends to her personal life; she married Chad Gray, lead vocalist for Hellyeah and Mudvayne, in October 2020. Her French bulldog, Milly the Metal Dog, has attended significant music events and met notable artists.
