Shari Belafonte

Shari Belafonte has built a multifaceted career across acting, modeling, and music, while also committing to advocacy work. After a highly successful start in modeling, gracing the covers of over 300 magazines and appearing in campaigns for brands like Calvin Klein jeans, Shari Belafonte transitioned to acting. She made her feature film debut in 1982 with roles in If You Could See What I Hear and Time Walker. Her acting career gained significant traction when she was cast as Julie Gillette in the ABC drama series Hotel, a pivotal role she inhabited for 115 episodes from 1983 to 1988.

More recently, Belafonte has maintained a prominent presence in television. She held a recurring role as Mayor Janice Lomax in General Hospital from 2016 to 2017. In 2019, she began a recurring role as Julia in Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed series The Morning Show, which is ongoing. The same year, she joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s Sistas in a recurring capacity as Lisa Mott, a role she continues to portray.

Her recent television appearances also include a guest role on ABC’s Station 19 in 2023. Beyond her entertainment endeavors, Shari Belafonte is a dedicated advocate, serving as the international spokesperson for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and championing children’s, animal, and environmental causes.
