About

Shawn Caminiti Pyfrom was born on August 16, 1986, in Tampa, Florida. His acting career began at the age of seven, supported by his parents, and he quickly established a presence in the entertainment industry. Early in his career, he appeared in various television series, including “The Drew Carey Show” (1995-2004), “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997-2003), and the HBO miniseries “From the Earth to the Moon” (1998). Pyfrom also portrayed younger versions of well-known TV personalities, such as Michael Landon in “Michael Landon, the Father I Knew” (1999) and Danny Bonaduce in “Come On, Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story” (1999). His vocal talents were utilized in the Disney Channel series “Stanley” from 2001 to 2003, where he played the main voice role of Lionel Griff across 41 episodes.

Pyfrom gained significant recognition for his role as Andrew Van de Kamp, the son of Bree Van de Kamp, in ABC’s “Desperate Housewives.” He began as a recurring guest in the first season (2004-2005), became a supporting cast member in the second, third, and fourth seasons, and was promoted to a full series regular in the fifth season (2009). Although he left as a series regular after the fifth season, he made frequent guest appearances until the show’s final season in 2012, appearing in a total of 112 episodes. His film credits during this period include “The Shaggy Dog” (2006) alongside Tim Allen and Kristin Davis, and the independent thriller “The Darkroom” (2007). In 2013, he acted in the TV movie “Killing Lincoln,” portraying Private John W. Nichols.

More recently, Shawn Pyfrom has expanded his work to include writing and producing. He co-wrote and executive produced the short film “EZK: Beyond the Walls” in 2019, which premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival marking his directorial debut. He also served as a producer for the 2017 film “Hard Surfaces,” in which he also acted as Adrian Jacobs. His later acting roles include appearances in “Hellbent” (2018), “Randy’s Canvas” (2018), “A Deadly Price for Her Pretty Face” (2020), and “The Rookie” (2022). In 2014, Pyfrom publicly discussed his five-month recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism, following the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, sharing personal insights into his struggles and sobriety.
