Born and raised in Staten Island, Sidney Rivera is known as a professional soccer player. Riviera first began to play soccer while he was attending high school at Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School and North Hunterdon High School. While Rivera was attending college at Old Dominion University, he made 48 appearances for the Monarchs, where he scored 11 goals and one assist. In 2014, Rivera had led the team with 9 goals, which got him to win the first ever Conference – USA tournaments championship in Old Dominion Unviersity history, while being named tournament offensive MVP. In 2015, Rivera was selected in the third round of 2015’s MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City. Rivera made his professional debut four days after having been loaned from Orlando City to Louisville City FC, with a 3-0 victory over the Wilmington Hammerheads. Rivera signed with NASL expansion side Puerto Rico FC, on April 2016. Rivera found consistent playing time in his first season with the club, making 16 appearances and scoring 3 goals. After his successful first season, Rivera appeared in 20 matches for Puerto Rico FC. After Rivera left Puerto Rico FC, he made 7 appearances for Atlantic City FC in the semi-professional National Premier Soccer League. Rivera later moved to V League 1 side Than Quang Ninh in Vietnam, only to return back to New Jersey very soon after that. In New Jersey, Rivera played for FC Motown in the National Premier Soccer League.
