His career took off at a young age, beginning with his participation in the Optimist World Championship, where he showcased his talent by winning bronze in 1998 and gold in 2000. This early success laid a strong foundation for his transition to the 470 class alongside his sailing partner, Igor Marenić. This victory was complemented by their historic win at the 470 World Championships in Rungsted, where they became the first Croatian sailors to claim a world title in Olympic sailing.
The duo continued to excel, defending their World title in 2010 and securing a bronze medal at the World Championships in The Hague. Their consistent performance earned them a spot at the 2012 Summer Olympics, where they finished sixth, further solidifying their status as elite competitors in the sport.
