Growing up in a family deeply entrenched in racing, with her father Gerald John “Jerry” Hansen being a 27-time SCCA national racing champion and her family owning Brainerd International Raceway from 1973 to 2006, she developed an early and profound connection to automobiles. After earning a degree in marketing from Florida State University, Hansen initially pursued a corporate marketing career. However, her passion for cars and entertainment soon led her to pivot, beginning with modeling and hosting various television segments.
Hansen’s career in automotive television began with her role as co-host of “Overhaulin'” on TLC. This position showcased her ability to engage with the technical aspects of car customization, where she helped assemble and disassemble cars. Following this, she hosted 10 seasons of “Powerblock” (later known as “PowerNation”) for Spike TV, NBC Sports, and CBS Sports, presenting a two-hour block of automotive shows.
