Slink Johnson

Gerald ‘Slink’ Johnson, born on January 31, 1973, in Dumas, Arkansas, began his career as a hip-hop artist before transitioning into comedy and acting. His move to Southern California at age 10 shaped his trajectory towards entertainment. Johnson established himself as an in-demand comedian, actor, and producer starting in 2007. His work spans various platforms, including voice acting for video games and animated series, as well as live-action roles in television and film.

Johnson is recognized for his role as Lamar Davis in the 2013 video game “Grand Theft Auto V.” In 2021, he reprised this role in a live-action re-enactment of a popular scene, further engaging with the game’s fanbase. He also reprised the role in downloadable content for “Grand Theft Auto Online.” Another significant role for Johnson is portraying the lead character, Black Jesus, in the Adult Swim television series of the same name, which aired from 2014 to 2019. During his time on “Black Jesus,” the late Charlie Murphy encouraged Johnson to pursue stand-up comedy, which he subsequently added to his repertoire of talents.
