The band, initially named Ice Nine, released a demo in 2002 before officially changing their name to Ice Nine Kills. Their debut independent album, ‘Last Chance to Make Amends,’ was released on April 20, 2006, followed by the EP ‘The Burning’ on November 20, 2007, through Red Blue Records.

The band’s success continued with ‘The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood,’ released on October 15, 2021, featuring singles such as ‘Hip to Be Scared’ and ‘Assault & Batteries.’ This period saw Spencer Charnas expand his creative endeavors beyond music into broader entertainment. He co-wrote the script for the horror movie ‘The Slashin’ of the Christ,’ scheduled for release in April 2025, marking his debut as a screenwriter. Further cementing his brand in the horror and entertainment industries, Charnas launched the Silver Scream Convention, with its inaugural event held in 2022, creating a dedicated platform for fans. His entrepreneurial ventures include the personal care and cosmetics brand Pretty Evil, and a notable collaboration with Matthew Lillard’s Macabre Spirits to produce the ‘Horrorwood Reserve’ whiskey.

These initiatives underscore Spencer Charnas’s multifaceted approach to building an expansive and integrated horror-themed brand ecosystem, from music to film, events, and consumer products, highlighting his influence and marketability within the genre.
