Spencer William Pratt was born on August 14, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. He attended Crossroads School and later pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science at the University of Southern California, completing his studies in 2013 after an earlier hiatus to focus on television. Pratt first entered the television landscape in 2005 as a producer and on-screen personality in the reality series “The Princes of Malibu,” where he managed and publicised series star Brody Jenner.
Pratt gained wider recognition in 2007 when he joined the cast of MTV’s “The Hills.” His relationship with co-star Heidi Montag became a central storyline, influencing the show’s narrative and leading to a significant public profile for the couple, often referred to as “Speidi.” Their marriage in 2008 and subsequent appearance on the American version of “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in 2009 further solidified their presence in reality television. During this period, Pratt also contributed to Montag’s music career, directing her music video for “Higher” in 2008 and producing her single “No More” in 2008.
Over the years, Pratt continued his career in reality television, competing in the British series of “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2013 and again in 2017. He also developed a strong online presence, particularly on Snapchat, where his content earned him the “Snapchatter of the Year” award at the 10th Annual Shorty Awards in 2018. More recently, he returned to television with “The Hills: New Beginnings” from 2019 to 2021, and has been involved in developing new projects, including a potential Hulu series following the loss of his home in the 2025 Pacific Palisades fire.
