American mixed martial artist Clay Guida competes in the UFC, and has been a professional fighter for nearly 20 years.
Guida was first inspired to step into the ring by his older brother Jason Guida who is also a mixed martial artist. He started wrestling aged five, competing and training throughout his time at school and going on to represent Harper College in the sport. He turned professional in 2003, competing in King of the Cage and going on to be signed by Strikeforce in 2006. He started to travel around the world to compete, including to Japan and Europe. He was soon spotted and signed to Zuffa and WEC, joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship and winning his first ever fight with the promotion. He was awarded Submission of the Night and over the next few years continued to put in great performances at UFC Fight Nights and other competitive events. Guida has become known for his energetic style in the ring and has become popular among fans and his fellow athletes, competing extensively in the Lightweight division and bringing his flair and personality to the sport. He entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019 and most recently won his match at UFC Fight Night 184 in early 2021.
At 39 years old, Guida is now a highly skilled and experienced mixed martial artist, and continues to entertain audiences and put in great performances in the ring.
