Stavros Halkias was born on February 11, 1989, in Baltimore, Maryland, and was raised by Greek immigrant parents. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, where he played football, and later the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. While at UMBC, Halkias began his comedy career, hosting a monthly showcase and performing in the Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia areas. His early efforts in comedy were recognized in 2012 when he was named Baltimore’s New Comedian of the Year.
Halkias subsequently moved to New York City, expanding his presence in the comedy scene. He gained significant recognition as a founding co-host of the podcast “Cum Town” from 2016 to 2022. During this period, he also made appearances on Adult Swim, IFC, and MSG Network’s “People Talking Sports and Other Stuff.” His work as an actor and writer further developed with roles in projects like “Let’s Start a Cult” (2024), “Tires” (2024-2025), and “Bugonia” (2025). He has performed at the New York Comedy Festival and opened for notable acts. In 2022, Halkias released his first comedy special, “Live At The Lodge Room,” independently on YouTube, followed by the Netflix special “Stavros Halkias: Fat Rascal” in December 2023.
His career progression also includes co-hosting the basketball podcast “Pod Don’t Lie” from 2019 to 2022 and his Twitch series, “Stavvy Solves Your Problems,” which evolved into the podcast “Stavvy’s World” in 2022.
