Sydney Scotia

Sydney Scotia, born Sydney Dodick on September 8, in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, embarked on her career in entertainment at a young age. She gained recognition for her role as Geneva in the YTV/Netflix comedy series “Some Assembly Required” (2014–2016), a performance that earned her two Joey Awards and a Leo Award nomination for Best Comedic Actress. Her acting portfolio expanded to include roles in the Netflix series “ReBoot: The Guardian Code” (2018), The CW’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” and Hallmark’s “Eat, Drink & Be Married” (2019). In 2016, she also co-produced and acted in the short film “I Dare You,” which screened at the Cannes Film Festival and garnered her a fourth Joey Award nomination.

Beyond her work as an actress, Scotia has developed a career behind the camera as a director and producer. Her feature-length documentary, “This Hits Home” (2020), received the audience choice award at the Boston Film Festival. She further demonstrated her directorial skills with the short films “Dead End” (2022) and “Jane” (2022), both of which were released after attending various festivals. Her achievements as a director were recognized with a Best Female Director award at the Vancouver Independent Film Festival.

Scotia’s talents also extend to dance and music. She competed as a dancer for eight years, culminating in a performance in Hong Kong with Olympic gold medalist Olga Korbut in 2008. She continues to write and release original music through AWAL distribution, making her work available on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. Her recent acting projects include a series lead role in the Crave series “Pillow Talk” (2022–2023) and her theatrical debut in “Frank & Penelope” (2022). She has also appeared in “It’s a Wonderful Knife” (2023) and on the CBS series “Tracker” (2025).
