American actor and model Taylor Kinney is widely recognised for prominent roles in film and television including performances in The Vampire Diaries, Zero Dark Thirty and Chicago Fire.
Kinney found success early in his career as an actor, appearing as a part of the main cast in his first credited role on television, playing Luke Gianni in the 2006 series Fashion House. The next year he made his Hollywood debut with appearances in two feature-length films, White Air and Furnace. Kinney soon returned to the small screen, portraying Glenn Morrison in the 2009 series Trauma before landing one of his most memorable roles, playing the part of Mason Lockwood in 2010’s supernatural drama Vampire Diaries.
Kinney has been a fixture on American television screens since his debut, joining the cast of popular series such as CSI: NY, Shameless, Rizzoli & Isles, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D, a performance for which he was awarded a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor. That same year Kinney returned to the big screen in Zero Dark Thirty, a high-profile performance that led to a series of strong supporting roles including The Other Woman, Consumed, Rock the Kasbah, and The Forest.
Kinney continues to play Lt. Severide in Chicago P.D., along with spinoff series’ Chicago Med and Chicago Fire. Most recently, he starred opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in 2018’s Here and Now.
