United States Tehran Von Ghasri is an American-born international stand-up comedian, writer, actor, television, radio, and podcast personality, known for his work in both American and international markets.

Tehran Von Ghasri was born in Washington D.C. to an Iranian immigrant father and an African-American mother. His diverse heritage includes Muslim, Zoroastrian, Christian, and Jewish cultural influences. He holds a J.D. law degree, along with undergraduate degrees in International Politics and Communications with a concentration in Mid-East Conflict, and a Master of Arts in Economics from George Mason University. Tehran began his career hosting events and presenting on local television stations.
Tehran’s comedy career gained momentum after being encouraged by Max Amini in 2009 and Maz Jobrani in 2011 to pursue comedy full-time in Los Angeles. He has since become a prominent figure in stand-up comedy, performing globally and becoming a favorite at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, where he created and hosts ‘Comedy Bazaar’ and ‘Tehran Thursday’.
His career progression includes hosting radio and television shows on Rangarang and Tapesh satellite television, and a significant rise in popularity within the Iranian diaspora after appearing on VOA’s ‘Parazit’. He transitioned into American and international markets, becoming a main host and daily contributor on Pivot’s ‘Take Part Live’ and Fox’s national panel show ‘So Me’. He has also participated in Just For Laughs and Netflix is a Joke festivals, and has hosted major events such as San Diego Comic Con 2018 and Los Angeles Comic Con 2021.
