The Honorable Tom Davis is a lobbyist, and a former member of the House of Representatives. He also served as the Chair of the House Oversight Committee.
Before his election to the House of Representatives to represent his home state of Virginia, Davis served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for nearly fifteen years. He was elected to the House in 1994, and became the Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee in 1998. In 2003 he became the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, a position he held for four years. Davis had plans to run for the Senate in 2008, but instead moved away from a congressional career and joined Deloitte as the director of federal government affairs. He also began to teach at the George Mason University, leading a class he called Southern Politics. Davis began to take classes in Political Parties and Campaigns too, often working with another Virginia representative, Jim Moran. He has also been appointed a member of the board for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors, and most recently became a lobbyist for law firm Holland and Knight.
Davis is an expert in political and election strategy, with three decades of experience behind him. His extensive career give him a unique insight into legislation, party politics and congressional divisions. Davis is the co-author of the book The Partisan Divide: Congress in Crisis and is known for his straightforward, common sense approach.
