The Katinas

The Katinas are a musical group consisting of five brothers: Sam, Joe, James, John, and Jesse. Born in American Samoa, located approximately 1,000 miles south of Hawaii, they began performing together as children. Their early performances included churches and local fairs, where they started developing their musical style. As they matured, their focus shifted towards creating music that conveyed themes of love, faith, and family. This consistent message and their energetic, soulful delivery became central to their artistic identity.

By 1995, The Katinas had expanded their reach, performing nationwide with notable artists such as R. Kelly, Jasmine Guy, DC Talk, and Amy Grant. They released independent albums, including “KATINA BOYZ” in 1991 and “WE BELIEVE.” These independent releases eventually led to a record deal with Gotee Records in 1997. Under Gotee Records, they released several albums, further establishing their presence within the Christian music genre. Their career progression included tours and continued musical output.

In 2009, The Katinas released “Live at the Rock San Diego,” which solidified their standing within the Christian music community. Throughout their career, they have consistently aimed to touch people’s hearts through their songs and stories, maintaining a mission of inviting everyone into a spiritual family. This commitment is also reflected in their Katina Ministries, ongoing tours, and projects like their ‘Welcome Home’ podcast and upcoming documentary, ‘Love God Love People.’
