Yuriko Ishida is a Japanese actress and essayist with a prolific career spanning television, film, and voice acting, recognized for her versatile performances and lasting industry presence. After making her professional acting debut in 1987 with a commercial for ANA for Okinawa, Yuriko Ishida quickly established herself as a versatile performer, appearing in her television debut the same year. She followed this with the TV serial ‘Umi No Gunsei’ and the film ‘Kanashi Iro Yanen’ in 1988, marking a consistent presence in the industry from the outset. Her career progression saw her take on diverse roles, building a foundation for her lasting impact in Japanese entertainment.

Ishida continued to garner critical acclaim, winning the 91st Television Drama Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in 2016 for her role in ‘Nigeru Wa Haji Da Ga Yaku Ni Tatsu’. That same year, she starred as Sachiko Fujinuma in the live-action adaptation of ‘Erased’.
