Mexico Thunder Rosa, also known as Melissa Cervantes, is a versatile professional wrestler and mixed martial artist who has made a significant impact across multiple organizations, cultivating a strong connection with diverse audiences.

Thunder Rosa is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where she is a former AEW Women's World Champion. She officially signed a full-time deal with the company in July 2021 following her debut in 2020.
Thunder Rosa signed with Combate Americas in 2019, making her MMA debut in November of that year. After retiring from MMA in 2021 due to her AEW commitments, she returned to Combate Global in June 2022 to provide commentary for their shows.
Melissa Cervantes, known professionally as Thunder Rosa, was born on July 22, 1986, in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2010 with a Bachelor’s Degree in sociology. Prior to her career in professional wrestling, Cervantes worked as a social worker, assisting at-risk young adults. Her wrestling journey began in late 2014, participating in a battle royal for Supreme Pro Wrestling in Sacramento, California. In 2015, she expanded her career internationally, making her Japanese debut with World Wonder Ring Stardom.
Cervantes’ career progressed with her role as Kobra Moon in Lucha Underground from seasons 2 through 4, where she became a Lucha Underground Trios Champion. After Lucha Underground concluded, she wrestled as Serpentine in Women of Wrestling (WOW) in 2018. A significant milestone occurred in 2019 when she captured the NWA World Women’s Championship. Concurrently, she founded Mission Pro Wrestling (MPW), an independent promotion dedicated to women’s wrestling, based in Texas.
In 2020, Thunder Rosa debuted in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and officially signed full-time in July 2021. Her tenure in AEW culminated in her winning the AEW Women’s World Championship in March 2022, a title she held until a back injury required her to relinquish it in August 2022. She returned to active competition in December 2023. Throughout her career, Cervantes has consistently showcased her skills in various wrestling styles and promotions, demonstrating adaptability and dedication.
