The multi-talented and award-winning Tim Prottey-Jones is a singer, songwriter, producer, session musician, stage performer and radio presenter. He has had years of experience in the industry and is regarded as one of the key figures in the UK’s country music scene. He was the founder of the alt-country band, The Wandering Hearts, and has enjoyed success on both sides of The Pond, having played in many legendary venues such as Hyde Park, Graceland and The Grand Ole Opry.
Graduating from University with a degree in music, Prottey-Jones started writing musicals and working as a session musician. Afterwards, he spent four years in musical theatre appearing in productions such as Rent, Once and Kinky Boots, alongside big showbiz names such as Ronan Keating and Melanie C of The Spice Girls. He then formed his band, The Wandering Hearts, signing a record deal with Decca/Universal. Their debut album, Wild Silence, went to No.1 in the UK country charts. The band won Best Group in the British Country Music Association Awards, and The Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award at the UK Americana Awards.
After a prolific four years with The Wandering Hearts, Prottey-Jones started to concentrate on his solo career and has since won awards for Best UK Musician and Best Male Vocalist.
