Tom Liebscher

Tom Liebscher-Lucz is an Olympic gold medalist in canoe sprint, having secured three Olympic titles for Germany. His career highlights reflect consistent achievement at the highest levels of international competition. After winning gold in the K1 500m at the 2013 World Championships in Duisburg, Tom Liebscher-Lucz quickly established himself as a dominant force in canoe sprint, going on to secure three Olympic titles for Germany. Having made his senior international debut in 2011, he was named Talent of the Year in Dresden in 2012.

That same year, he added a gold in the K1 500m and a bronze in the K2 200m at the European Championships, and was recognized with the prestigious Sports Award of Dresden. In 2017, he secured two World Championship gold medals in the K-1 1000m and K-4 500m events, followed by another K-4 500m World Championship gold in 2018, alongside a silver in the K-1 500m at the World Championships and a silver in the K-4 500m at the European Championships. His consistent performance culminated in 2019 with two more World Championship gold medals in the K-1 500m and K-4 500m, coupled with a silver medal in the K-4 500m at the European Games. This set the stage for his second Olympic gold medal in the K-4 500m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
