Tom Lynch

Tom Lynch began his professional Australian rules football career after being selected by the St Kilda Saints at pick No. 13 in the 2008 AFL draft. He played six AFL games for St Kilda before seeking a trade to Adelaide at the conclusion of the 2011 season for more senior playing opportunities. During his initial year with the Adelaide Crows in 2012, he participated in six AFL games as the team progressed to the preliminary final. The following season, 2013, marked a significant milestone as he became Adelaide’s leading goalkicker, achieving 33 goals from 17 games, including a notable ten goals in a single match against GWS. This achievement placed him among a select few Crows players to boot ten or more goals in a game.

Lynch’s career faced challenges in 2014 due to serious injuries, including a dislocated shoulder, a broken jaw, and a fractured neck. Despite these setbacks, he made a strong return in 2015, playing every game. In 2016, he achieved a career-high 42 goals, earning an All-Australian nomination and securing third place in Adelaide’s Club Champion Award. Elevated to the leadership group in 2017, he was again an All-Australian nominee, contributing 31 goals from 23 games as the club advanced to the grand final. He consistently performed as a versatile forward, creating scoring opportunities and working across the field.

His tenure with the Crows concluded after the 2021 season, following a serious toe injury that impacted his final year. Over his career with Adelaide, Tom Lynch played 158 games, demonstrating consistent performance in his role. He was recognized with awards such as Leading Goalkicker in 2013, Best Team Man in 2020 and 2021, and became an AFC Life Member in 2021, highlighting his commitment and contributions to the club.
