Tom Mitchell is an incredible point scorer when playing rugby. In one amazing and noteworthy season he picked up 358 points, which made him top point scorer in the 2013/14 HSBC Sevens World Series. The total left him a remarkable 98 points ahead of next man and Fijian Samisoni Viriviri, though he was sadly kept out of the competition in the following season on the Gold Coast owing to injury. Scoring in each of his three opening games in the World Series in 2012 really propelled Tom to the big time as he continued to study history at Kellogg College, Oxford.
As captain of the England Rugby 7s side, Tom is a great leader, determined professional and role model for any and all. He is tipped to become to the Team GB Olympic 7s captain and always turns in fine solo performances that make him stand out from the crowd. Tom captained England for the very first time when they won the Plate in a Las Vegas event in January 2014. In that tournament he was the second highest points-scorer overall with a grand total of 44 behind Cameron Clark, of Australia. Tom can play centre or full back and has also studied to complete a BA in English and Philosophy at Bristol University before going to Oxford. Now a full time sevens player having signed a contract in 2012, Tom has since taken his try tally to 85 and points to 889 in 33 World Series events.
