Tom Wright

Tom Wright is a British architect known for designing prominent global structures and integrating innovative design into various projects. After leading the conceptualization and design of the iconic Burj Al Arab, Tom Wright established himself as a preeminent global architect, crafting a structure that would symbolize Dubai and draw parallels to global landmarks like the Sydney Opera House. Initiated in October 1994 and completed in 1999, Wright’s vision for the Burj Al Arab reflected Dubai’s maritime heritage, shaping the building to resemble a dhow’s sail while embodying a contemporary future. Prior to this landmark achievement, Wright qualified as an architect in 1983 and was accepted as a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in the same year.

This project underscored his versatility and ability to adapt his visionary approach to unique and complex environments, ensuring aesthetic appeal without compromising functional excellence. In a significant evolution of his practice, KKK Architects restructured and was formally reformed as WKA (Wright Kuruvilla Architects Ltd) in March 2024. This new iteration of the firm, continuing his partnership with Geku Kuruvilla George, builds on Wright’s legacy of integrating innovative design into a diverse portfolio of projects globally. Through WKA, Wright remains at the forefront of architectural innovation, delivering iconic and commercially impactful designs that consistently redefine industry standards and capture international acclaim.
