Former Rugby player Tommy Bowe has served as a pundit on Channel 4, Amazon Prime Sports, eir, Premier Sports and on the BBC covering the Six Nations in 2023. The ex-Ireland international turned rising television presenter began his career as a host on morning television show Ireland AM in August 2020 on Virgin Media, and more recently became a hit with viewers watching the BBC’s coverage of Scotland versus Ireland for the Six Nations when he appeared on the pundits panel alongside Martin Johnson, John Barclay and Gabby Logan. Before retiring from rugby, he played on the wing for Ospreys, Ulster, the British & Irish Lions and Ireland.
The former back-three star was born in Emyvale, Ireland and kicked off his professional playing career with Ulster. His first international call-up came in 2004 when he played at wing and full back for the Ireland U21 team, helping the squad reach the final of the U21 World Cup. In the same season he went on to win the Celtic league with Ulster. In 2008 Bowe joined the Ospreys in Wales, and in 2010 he was named the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year and the RBS Player of the Championship for the Six Nations. The following year Bowe shone at the 2011 Rugby World Cup for Ireland, scoring two tries against the USA.
