Baker and television star Alice Fevronia rose to fame when she reached the final of popular Channel 4 television show The Great British Bake Off. Fevronia’s delicate and intricate baking style with added ‘wow’ factor was a huge hit with the show’s Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and her talent and passion for baking also captured the hearts of viewers at home.
Fevronia grew up in rural Essex where she developed a passion for baking from a young age, inspired and taught by her grandmother who also loved to bake. Fevronia was also obsessed with sport as a youngster, but baking became her main pastime after an operation for scoliosis when she was 15. Before becoming a television star, Fevronia was a Geography teacher in London where she often used her baking during her lessons to demonstrate school topics from volcanic activity to coastal erosion.
The talented baker took her love of making highly decorative cakes for her relatives and friends to the next level when she decided to audition for the 10th series of the Great British Bake Off. After impressing week on week with her beautiful bakes, she earned herself a place in the top three and the Bake Off finale competing against Steph Blackwell and David Atherton, narrowly missing out on winning the series.
Since her appearance on Bake Off Fevronia has taken the world of social media by storm, with her Instagram account soaring to an impressive 136k followers. She has also launched her own website and has written recipes for several leading publications including The Guardian and Cosmopolitan.
