The legendary sportsman Tony Dorsett is a former professional Football running back, who most famously played for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He was a hugely successful player, helping the Cowboys win Super Bowl XII, as well as being named in 1994 to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the College Football Hall of Fame.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dorsett proved to be a natural on the Football field throughout his High School years. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he was named 3x First-team All-American and won the Heisman Trophy. He turned professional when he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1977 NFL Draft, signing a $1.1 million contract, the first player in franchise history to reach that amount. In his debut season, he not only helped the Cowboys win Super Bowl XII, but he was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He played for the team for 11 seasons, through to 1987, and then joined the Denver Broncos when he was traded in June 1988. He retired from the game the following September due to injuries.
Dorsett regularly connects with his legions of followers and fans through Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos of his life around charity work and the gridiron. He is also available for that personalised shout-out via the Cameo platform.
