Tracey Ann Oberman

Tracey Ann Oberman began her esteemed career with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in 1993, starring in Christopher Marlowe’s Tamburlaine. She followed this with appearances at the National Theatre, including Clifford Odets’ Waiting for Lefty in 1999 and David Mamet’s Edmond in 2003, performing alongside Kenneth Branagh. Oberman has appeared in over 600 radio plays and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4. Her early television roles included comedic turns in Bob Martin (2000–2001), Lenny Henry in Pieces (2000–2003), and Big Train (2002).

She also narrated Escape to the Chateau from 2016 to 2021. In recognition of her significant contributions, Oberman was awarded an MBE in 2025 for her services to Holocaust education and combating antisemitism. Looking ahead, she is set to reprise her iconic role as Chrissie Watts in BBC’s EastEnders in 2024, further cementing her versatility and enduring impact across British television.
