Valentina Vignali

Valentina Vignali, born and raised in Rimini, Italy, began her basketball journey at the age of eight, a sport she passionately embraced after initially pursuing dance. Her height, 1.74m by age nine, proved more suited for basketball than ballet, leading her to commit fully to the sport. By age 14, Valentina was scouted by Basket Cervia, marking a significant step in her amateur career. Her professional career officially commenced two years later with her debut in an A-League team. She is known for her role as a power forward, playing the ‘four’ position and occasionally in the post, and is recognized for her shooting ability.

In 2013, at 21 years old, Valentina was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. This experience was a turning point, where basketball became a source of mental strength and a safe haven during her treatment. Despite needing to adjust her playing schedule and league divisions due to the health challenges, moving from A and B Leagues to the C League, she never stopped playing. After two years of treatment and recovery, Valentina successfully returned to playing at the highest level, making a comeback to the A-League. She continued her basketball career with various club teams and participated in European tournaments.

Simultaneously with her basketball career, Valentina began modeling at 15. She leveraged platforms like Facebook starting in 2008-2009 to share content related to both her basketball and modeling pursuits. This early engagement with social media contributed to her development as a content creator and influencer. Her career progression demonstrates a blend of athletic dedication and a strategic expansion into modeling and digital content, allowing her to work with various brands. She currently captains Team Milan in events like the Hoop District tournament, utilizing her platform to inspire others.
