Nick Thune is an accomplished actor, comedian, and musician known for his unique blend of deadpan storytelling and absurdist wit. After gaining national recognition with his Comedy Central Presents special in 2007, Nick Thune established himself as a versatile talent across stand-up, acting, and writing. Early in his stand-up career, Thune integrated a guitar as a prop for wordplay, performing at iconic venues like the Laugh Factory and making eight appearances on The Tonight Show, solidifying his presence on late-night television. Thune’s comedic journey continued with his debut album, Thick Noon, released February 23, 2010, via Comedy Central Records.
He was cast in the 2010 NBC pilot Beach Lane alongside Matthew Broderick. Thune took on a starring role as the titular character in the 2017 film Dave Made a Maze, and his filmography further expanded with roles in The Possession of Hannah Grace (2018) and Venom (2018). In 2020, he had a guest-starring role as Magnus in the first season of HBO’s Love Life, and continued to showcase his range in films such as The Right One (2021) and Mixtape (2021). Thune has also contributed as a writer to his acclaimed specials Nick Thune: Folk Hero (2014) and Nick Thune: Good Guy (2016).
