Vic Fuentes

Victor Vincent Fuentes was born on February 10, 1983, in San Diego, California. His father, Victor Gamboa Fuentes, was a painter and former jazz musician who taught Vic to play guitar at age seven. Vic attended Mission Bay High School and later San Diego State University, where he studied graphic design. He discontinued his studies after his former band, Before Today, secured a recording contract. Early in his career, he played in a local punk band called 3 Simple Words with Curtis Peoples, who later co-wrote “King for a Day.”

In 1998, Vic and his younger brother, Mike Fuentes, formed the band Early Times, which later became Before Today. After signing with Equal Vision Records, Before Today released their only album, “A Celebration of an Ending,” in 2004 before disbanding in 2006. In 2007, Vic and Mike established Pierce the Veil, releasing their debut album, “A Flair for the Dramatic.” The band expanded with the addition of bassist Jaime Preciado and guitarist Tony Perry. They went on to release four more albums: “Selfish Machines” (2010), “Collide with the Sky” (2012), “Misadventures” (2016), and “The Jaws of Life” (2023).

Fuentes has toured extensively across North America, South America, Australia, Asia, and Europe, performing at major music festivals such as Warped Tour, Rock am Ring, Reading and Leeds, Soundwave Festival, and Slam Dunk Festival. His work with Pierce the Veil has led to collaborations and shared stages with bands including Bring Me the Horizon, All Time Low, Sleeping with Sirens, and A Day to Remember. He also participated in the supergroup Isles & Glaciers, which released one EP, “The Hearts of Lonely People” (2010). Fuentes has also contributed songwriting and vocals to various other artists’ projects.
