Victor Lindelöf was born on July 17, 1994. He began his football career in Sweden, playing for several Västerås-based youth clubs like IK Franke, Västerås IK, and Västerås SK. At the age of 15, in October 2009, Lindelöf made his first-team debut for Västerås SK. The following season, he contributed to his team’s promotion to the second-highest Swedish league. He continued to develop his skills in Sweden before making a significant move to Portuguese club Benfica in December 2011, initially joining their youth and B teams. He gained experience at these levels before making his first-team debut for Benfica in September 2013. During his tenure with Benfica, he achieved notable success, contributing to three Primeira Liga titles, two Taça de Portugal titles, and one Taça da Liga title.
In July 2017, Lindelöf transferred to Premier League side Manchester United. His initial season saw limited Premier League appearances, but he gradually established himself in the team. He became a more prominent figure in the 2018–19 season, frequently featuring in the starting lineup. In September 2019, he signed a new contract with Manchester United, reflecting his continued importance to the squad. During his time at Manchester United, he secured an EFL Cup in 2023 and an FA Cup in 2024. He departed Manchester United at the end of the 2024–25 season, moving to Aston Villa in September 2025. He made his debut for Aston Villa the same month. Internationally, Lindelöf has represented Sweden at various youth levels, including winning the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2015. He made his senior international debut in March 2016 and has since represented Sweden in major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 2016, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2020. In August 2021, he was named captain of the Sweden national team.
