Victoria Clark

Victoria Clark was born on October 10, 1959, in Dallas, Texas. She initially pursued music at Yale University, graduating in 1982, and later attended graduate school at New York University with aspirations of becoming a director. During her time at NYU, a casting director encouraged her to act, leading to a pivotal shift in her career path. Shortly after this transition, Clark secured her first Broadway role as an understudy in Stephen Sondheim’s “Sunday in the Park With George”, marking the beginning of a sustained career in the theatrical community. She has since established herself as a versatile performer, showcasing her talents across various mediums.

A significant achievement in Clark’s career came in 2005 when she received New York theatre’s three most prestigious awards – the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Awards – for her portrayal of Margaret Johnson in “The Light in the Piazza” at Lincoln Center. Her stage work includes roles in “Guys and Dolls” (1992–93), “Titanic” (1997–99), “Cabaret” (1999–2000), and “Urinetown” (2003). Beyond her stage career, Clark has appeared in films such as “The Happening” (2008) and “Main Street” (2010), and lent her voice to animated features like “Anastasia” (1997). Her television credits include roles in “Homeland” (2014), “The Good Wife” (2016), “The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair” (2018), “Almost Family” (2019–2020), and “The Gilded Age” (2025).

In addition to her performance work, Clark is an educator, providing vocal technique lessons. She released her debut solo album, “Fifteen Seconds of Grace,” in 2008. Her continued impact on the Broadway stage was further recognized in 2023 when she won her second Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in “Kimberly Akimbo,” demonstrating her enduring presence and influence in the industry. She married Thomas Reidy on August 1, 2015, and is a mother to her son, Thomas Luke Guest.
