Former professional tennis player Vince Spadea has represented his country twice at the Olympic Games, and competed in countless international tournaments.
Spadea shot to fame in 1999 when he reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and achieved a Top 20 ranking shortly after. He competed at the 2000 Wimbledon tournament, beating Greg Rusedski in a match which lasted nearly four hours. He competed in both the Challenger Tour and the ATP Tour in following years, becoming well known for his performances at the Indian Wells Masters and the Monte Carlo Masters.
Spadea’s career continued to go from strength to strength over the next few years, representing his country twice at the Olympic Games before a recurring injury saw him retire in 2011. Outside of tennis, he has also released an autobiographical book which was well received and shot to the top of the bestsellers list on its release, called Break Point: The Secret Diary of a Tennis Player. He also starred in Hollywood movie Battle of the Sexes in 2017, as Steve Carell’s body double.
Since retiring from the tennis court, Spadea has made a name for himself as a luxury real estate agent, marketing high end homes in Florida. He was recently named Rookie of the Year, and is now earning himself a reputation as a determined and talented seller. Spadea is impressive both on and off the tennis court, and has earned his place in the sporting history books.
