Violet Skies is a Welsh singer-songwriter and producer known for her impactful songwriting contributions to global artists and her efforts to foster a more inclusive music industry. After releasing her acclaimed debut track, ‘How the Mighty,’ in 2013, described by WalesOnline as a ‘classically arranged electro slow-burner,’ Violet Skies established herself as a dynamic singer-songwriter and producer. She quickly followed this success with her debut solo EP, Dragons, in June 2014, which led to a performance on the prestigious BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival later that year. In 2014, Skies also opened for A Great Big World at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush, further expanding her live presence, before releasing the track ‘Liar’ in January 2015.
This global series of female-only writing camps actively addresses industry imbalances by fostering a supportive, collaborative environment for female, femme, LGBTQ+, and nonbinary songwriters, producers, and artists. Her commitment to industry development was recognized with her selection for PRS Foundation’s Writer Producer Fund. In 2020, she released an instrumental piano-only EP, featuring reworkings of her popular songs. Skies released her highly anticipated debut album, If I Saw You Again, in June 2022, a project largely completed during the COVID-19 lockdown in Los Angeles, allowing for extensive production and introspective development.
