Walshy Fire

Walshy Fire, a Grammy Award-winning DJ, MC, and record producer, brings Caribbean-influenced sounds to global audiences through his work with Major Lazer and various solo projects. After extensively touring as part of the Black Chiney sound system starting in 2004, Grammy Award-winning DJ, MC, and record producer Walshy Fire went on to infuse Caribbean-influenced sounds into global music. His early work with Black Chiney was recognized for innovative mashups, blending hip-hop and R&B rhythms with reggae and R&B vocal tracks. In 2012, Walshy Fire joined the acclaimed electronic dancehall group Major Lazer alongside Diplo and later Ape Drums, serving as the dynamic master of ceremonies.

Further expanding his entrepreneurial ventures, Walshy Fire opened Dante’s Hifi vinyl bar in Miami, Florida in 2021. Most recently, in 2025, he published his highly anticipated book ‘Art of Dancehall’, which meticulously chronicles the rich legacy of dancehall and sound system culture, drawing from his extensive personal collection of dancehall posters and ephemera. Walshy Fire continues to be a pivotal figure in bridging global musical cultures and championing Caribbean artistry.
