A leading dermatologist by day, Angela Funovits is a globally-renowned illusionist and mentalist by night and has starred on TV shows around the world. After rising to prominence in 2007 as the runner-up on NBC’s popular primetime reality series Phenomenon with Uri Geller and Criss Angel, she has since shone in television and theaters whilst simultaneously pursuing her medicine career. Her other TV appearances include Fool Us, Wizard Wars, Don’t Blink, Masters of Illusion and The Next Mentalist.

Throughout the years, Funovits has used her many talents to raise funds for multiple charitable causes and was awarded the prestigious American Academy of Dermatology’s Presidential Citation Award. In 2017 she was a major contributor to the American Academy of Dermatology’s President’s Gala, helping to raise over $1.2 million for charitable programs including the AAD Shade Structure Grant Program and Camp Discovery by providing entertainment, program scripting, event planning and acting as emcee.

Born and raised in Avon Lake, Ohio, after graduating from Northeast Ohio Medical University’s B.S./M.D. program she completed her dermatology residency at Ohio’s MetroHealth Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University, and also served as academic chief resident. She first became interested in magic after watching Breaking the Magician’s Code: Magic’s Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed when she was ten years old, and now successfully thrives in both entertainment and medicine after her meteoric rise to fame.
