Wawa Zainal

Nur Hawa binti Zainal Abidin, known professionally as Wawa Zainal, was born on March 12, 1991, in Lahad Datu, Sabah, Malaysia. She is the eighth of eleven siblings. Zainal began her career in the entertainment industry as a model at 12 years old, transitioning into acting in 2008. She was initially represented by MIG Talents from 2012 to 2015.

Her acting career commenced with the drama series “Ana Lulu” in 2011, establishing her presence on Malaysian television. She starred in several films, including “3 Temujanji” (2012) and “Gangster Wars” (2013), where she played the role of Rina. In addition to acting, Wawa Zainal has expanded her career into production. She served as a producer for the TV movie “Sabda Kekasih” (2021) and the upcoming film “Abnormal: Buas” (2024), where she also made a special appearance as an actress. Her involvement in both acting and production showcases her diverse capabilities within the film industry.

Beyond her entertainment career, Wawa Zainal is a businesswoman. Alongside her husband, Aeril Zafrel, she co-founded retail brands Wawa Cosmetics and Wawa Scarves, offering premium quality products. These ventures have achieved significant recognition, including Superbrands status for WAWA. She has also taken on roles as a brand ambassador, notably for LipIce Malaysia, demonstrating her commercial appeal. The couple married secretly in 2012, further solidifying their partnership in both personal and professional spheres. She has also received significant nominations for her acting and as an onscreen couple with her husband, such as the MeleTOP Era Award and the Berita Harian Popular Star Award.
