Wesley Walker earned First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 1978 after leading the NFL in receiving yards during only his second professional season, establishing himself as a premier deep threat in the league. Prior to his professional career, Walker was an All-American for the California Golden Bears, demonstrating remarkable collegiate statistics with 86 catches for 2,206 yards and 22 touchdowns, averaging 25.7 yards per catch. Walker’s NFL journey commenced when he was selected by the New York Jets in the second round (33rd overall) of the 1977 NFL Draft. In his rookie year (1977), he showcased his potential playing 14 games, catching 35 passes for 740 yards with 3 touchdowns, averaging 21.1 yards per reception.

He continues to contribute to the sports world as an occasional sports radio commentator, offering his insights and expertise gained from over a decade at the forefront of professional football.
