Ainsley Melham is an accomplished actor, singer, and dancer known for his leading roles on Broadway and in Australian theatre, offering a strong profile for collaborations in entertainment and media. After graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2012, Ainsley Melham launched his professional career by joining the acclaimed Australian children’s musical group Hi-5 from 2013 to 2016. During his tenure, he captivated audiences across national and international tours, starred in three popular series of Hi-5 House, and appeared in the documentary film Some Kind of Wonderful in 2013. Following his departure from Hi-5 in 2016, Melham seamlessly transitioned back to the theatre, taking on the role of Sonny Malone in an Australian production of Xanadu in March 2016.
Later that year, he was cast in the iconic title role of Aladdin in Disney Theatrical Company’s Australian production, performing across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth from 2016 to 2018. His acclaimed portrayal earned him a Helpmann Award nomination for Best Male Actor in a Musical in 2017. Melhams career gained international recognition with his Broadway debut as Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre in February 2019, where he performed alongside original Australian castmates Michael James Scott as Genie and Arielle Jacobs as Princess Jasmine. Continuing his diverse theatrical journey, he then starred as Molina in Kiss of the Spider Woman for the Melbourne Theatre Company in 2019.
