Will Arndt

William Arndt was born on August 13, 1993, in Sandy Hook, CT. He attended Western Connecticut State University, where he had a record-setting college career. Arndt held multiple university records upon graduation, including most career passing yards (7,940 yards), total offense (9,248 yards), passing touchdowns (73), and total touchdowns (91). He served as team captain for three seasons and was twice recognized with an All MASCAC Academic Team selection. His academic and athletic performance laid the groundwork for his professional career.

Arndt made his professional football debut in 2019 with the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League (CFL) after signing with them in September 2017. He spent the 2018 season as a backup quarterback and in 2019, he served as the third-string quarterback before being named a starter for three games late in the season. During his time with the Redblacks, Arndt completed 103 of 165 passes for 940 yards, throwing 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He also recorded 45 rushing yards on 15 attempts. Following his tenure with Ottawa, Arndt signed with the BC Lions in January 2020 but did not play due to the cancellation of the 2020 CFL season and was released in 2021.

After his playing career, Arndt transitioned into coaching. He joined the Edmonton Elks as an offensive assistant in September 2021 and later became the quarterbacks coach for the Ottawa Redblacks in 2022. In December 2022, Arndt stepped down from his coaching role to explore another playing opportunity, eventually signing with the Albany Firebirds of the Arena Football League (AFL) in February 2024. Beyond his football career, Arndt also portrayed Penn State play-caller Matt McGloin in the HBO movie “Paterno,” released in April 2018.
