Korea Choi Woo-sik has established himself as an internationally recognized actor, known for his versatile performances across film and television, contributing significantly to the global appreciation of South Korean cinema and drama.
Choi Woo-shik partnered with the French fashion brand AMI, unveiling a cinematic fashion collaboration and an exclusive limited edition capsule collection. He was also named a global ambassador for the brand. The collaboration was featured in targeted paid ads and through AMI Paris' Naver Brand Channel.

Choi Woo-sik was born on March 26, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea. At the age of ten, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, with his family, where he resided for the next decade. He attended Simon Fraser University before returning to South Korea in 2010 to pursue an acting career, making his debut in the period drama “The Duo” in 2011. Following this, he took on supporting roles in various television series, including “Special Affairs Team TEN” which saw him portray detective Park Min-ho for two seasons (2011-2013). His early film credits included appearances in “Flu” and “Secretly, Greatly” in 2013, alongside roles in TV dramas like “Rooftop Prince” and “Pride and Prejudice.” In 2014, he secured his first leading role in the independent film “Set Me Free,” earning critical acclaim and several awards, including Actor of the Year at the Busan International Film Festival for his portrayal of a complex protagonist.
His international profile significantly rose with his role as Yong-guk, a high school baseball player, in the critically and commercially successful zombie thriller “Train to Busan” (2016). This was followed by a notable appearance in Bong Joon-ho’s “Okja” (2017). A turning point in his career arrived in 2019 when he reunited with director Bong Joon-ho for “Parasite,” taking on the lead role of Ki-woo. This film achieved monumental success, winning the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and becoming the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture. Choi’s performance, alongside the ensemble cast, also earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Beyond his acting, he also contributed to the film’s soundtrack with the song “Soju One Glass.” Since this international breakthrough, Choi Woo-sik has continued to take on leading roles, demonstrating his range across different genres.
In recent years, Choi Woo-sik has further solidified his standing with prominent roles in both film and television. He starred in the SBS drama “Our Beloved Summer” (2021-2022), marking his return to the small screen after a four-year hiatus and earning him a Director’s Award at the SBS Drama Awards. He also featured in the film “The Policeman’s Lineage” (2022). More recently, he took on a leading role in the Netflix crime thriller series “A Killer Paradox” (2024), based on a popular webtoon, and is set to appear in “Melo Movie” (2025) and “Would You Marry Me” (2025). Over his career, Choi Woo-sik has consistently delivered performances that resonate with audiences and critics, establishing himself as a key figure in contemporary South Korean entertainment.
