Margo Elaine Simms, known professionally as Margeaux, was born in Toronto, Canada, and later pursued a career in music and fashion. While studying fashion design at Ryerson University, she began singing on hip-hop tracks. In 2005, she relocated to New York City with aspirations of becoming a fashion designer, interning with Betsey Johnson, but ultimately redirected her focus to a professional music career. During this period, she formed the group Test Drive and collaborated with producers such as Timbaland, Danja, and The Runners, as well as DJ Khaled, working on various musical projects.
After an unsuccessful venture with Universal Music Group, Margeaux moved to Los Angeles to develop her solo material. She released her debut EP, “Animal House,” in 2010 under the name Margo. Her musical journey continued with the dubstep duo Invaderz, formed with Nikko London, and a stint with the band Roma! after returning to New York City. In 2015, Margeaux joined the cast of VH1’s reality television series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, gaining wider recognition. Her involvement in the show also led to the release of her single “Start a War” in 2015, which she performed on the series. She has since expanded her ventures into fashion, with her creative brand House of Margeaux, which includes a clothing line and a hand-painted skateboard line called Tokiebow. Her discography further includes the EP “Black Cocaine,” released in 2017.
Margeaux’s career highlights include her appearances on reality television shows such as Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (2016) and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (2015).
