Xolo Mariduena

Xolo Maridueña was born on June 9, 2001, in Los Angeles, California, and began his professional acting career in 2011. With a natural talent for acting, he quickly secured an agent and within his first year, he landed numerous television commercials and a recurring role on the NBC drama “Parenthood” (2012–2015). This role, where he played Victor Graham, eventually became a series regular position through seasons 4-6 of the show. His early work also included appearances in “Major Crimes” (2013) and a small part in the 2013 comedy film “Dealin’ with Idiots.”

Maridueña’s career progressed significantly with his starring role as Miguel Diaz in the Netflix original series “Cobra Kai” (2018–2025), a continuation of “The Karate Kid” franchise. He appeared in every episode of the series, gaining widespread recognition. This role was a turning point, leading to his casting as Jaime Reyes, also known as Blue Beetle, in the 2023 DC Comics superhero film “Blue Beetle.” This marked a significant milestone as he portrayed the first Latino superhero character to headline a live-action film. His multicultural background, which includes Mexican, Cuban, and Ecuadorian heritage, has allowed him to advocate for Latinx representation within the industry.

Beyond acting, Maridueña expanded his work into podcasting, co-hosting “Lone Lobos” with Jacob Bertrand starting in 2021. He also ventured into music, releasing his debut single “On My Way” in 2023. His upcoming projects include voice roles in animated films like “Smurfs” (2025) as Brainy Smurf and animated series such as “Sakamoto Days” (2025) and “Invincible” (2025). He is also involved in feature films “Killing Castro” (post-production), “Practical Magic 2” (post-production), and “Dog Years” (post-production), demonstrating a diverse and active career path.
