Yamen Sanders is an athlete turned influencer who has played professional football in the NFL, taking after his father who played international basketball. Due to his upbringing as part of an athletic family, Sanders moved school often – which allowed him to be exposed to a variety of different people and places, culminating in the sporting personality being able to fluently speak Italian. Prior to appearing on Love Island, Sanders also worked as a model and has appeared in industry events such as the Art Hearts Fashion show, being professionally represented by the Aston Models and Talent Agency – this led to him modelling for some major brands such as Apple, Nike, and Gatorade.

Sanders then went onto Love Island in its first ever season airing in the US, and was successful in his pairs with both Alana and Aissata.
