Yasmina Chalhoub, owner and editor of the blog “Dress Well Travel Often,” commenced her journey in June 2016 while also holding a corporate position. Her motivation for starting the blog stemmed from a desire to gain experience in B2C marketing, content creation, SEO, PR partnerships, social media marketing, and retail analytics, areas distinct from her B2B corporate role. This initiative was part of a broader strategy to enhance her profile for an MBA application, specifically targeting an emphasis in marketing. The blog, which began primarily as a style and travel platform, documented her experiences and provided advice on workplace topics and travel diaries, including a six-part series on Italy and a subsequent series on France. This period also involved additional commitments such as studying for the GMAT, writing admissions essays, and attending graduate school interviews.
Chalhoub successfully gained admission to Kellogg’s School of Management at Northwestern University, a top marketing program, where she pursued an MBA with majors in marketing, finance, and managing organizations. During her MBA program, she completed an internship in Calvin Klein’s Global Strategy department, working on projects related to growth, mergers and acquisitions, licensing, Amazon digital initiatives, user experience, marketing and influencer strategy, organizational restructuring, and executive strategy. Before her time at Kellogg, she worked at Oracle, where her responsibilities included managing North American field marketing campaigns for developer, security, and application development sectors, as well as organizing East Coast Cloud Day roadshows. Following her MBA, she joined Signet Jewelers, parent company to brands such as Jared, Kay, and Zales, focusing on marketing innovation and strategy for jewelry services. Her expertise encompasses digital marketing, corporate strategy, influencer marketing, digital media, content creation, field marketing, public speaking, brand management, event planning, public relations, and social media content management. She is currently the Head of Marketing and Creative Director at Mossflower Press.
Her blog evolved to include additional lifestyle topics like home decor and her experiences as a graduate student. Yasmina Chalhoub graduated from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013, majoring in marketing and minoring in French literature. She is proficient in French and Spanish. She has received professional recognition, including MVP awards in Q2FY15, Q3FY15, and Q4FY15, and Early Achiever Awards in Q3FY14 and Q4FY14. She has also served as President of Oracle Austin Toastmasters from July 2014 to June 2015 and as the Vice President of Texas Lassos Alumni. Her volunteer efforts include roles such as Secretary for Living for Zachary, Community Volunteer for the City of Plano, and Texas Lasso Volunteer for the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT), Austin Pets Alive!, and Divine Canines. She holds certifications in Master Composter (2017), Toastmasters International Officer Training (2014), CPR & AED (2011), and Zumba Basics I (2011).
