Yuliia Dzhima is an Olympic Champion biathlete recognized for her consistent performance and numerous medals in international competitions. After securing a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Yuliia Dzhima went on to establish herself as an Olympic Champion biathlete with a consistent record of international success. Her professional career commenced in January 2008, making her international debut at the Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding, Germany. Over the subsequent three years, Dzhima was a dedicated member of the Ukrainian junior team, achieving notable results including a bronze medal in the individual race at the 2009 Junior European Championships.
The 2014 Winter Olympics saw her achieve a career highlight, capturing the gold medal in the women’s 4 × 6 km relay alongside teammates Vita Semerenko, Valentyna Semerenko, and Olena Bilosiuk. Following the Olympics, Dzhima demonstrated a strong resurgence in the 201617 season, achieving her highest World Cup rankings and breaking into the Top-10 of the general World Cup classification for the first time. This period also saw her secure three medals at the 2017 European Championships in Duszniki-Zdrój, Poland, and another silver medal in the 4 x 6 km relay at the 2017 Biathlon World Championships, earning her the Best Athlete of a Month award from the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in January 2017. The pre-Olympic 201718 season commenced with two third-place finishes in Östersund, Sweden, showcasing her consistent individual performance.
