Zach Galligan is an engaging, charismatic actor, acting teacher, and screenwriter living in New York City, best known for starring as Billy Peltzer in the comedy-horror films Gremlins which was released in 1984, and its sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch which came out six years later. It was Galligan’s first major role, but prior to this cult icon, he got his first film lead in 1982 as a teenager, in Nothing Lasts Forever, which also starred many Saturday Night Live alumni. He went on to appear in several other films and in 1988 he starred as Mark Loftmore in the horror comedy Waxwork, returning for the scary sequel, Waxwork II: Lost in Time. He’s also been asked to play a part in music, when in 2016, UK progressive rock band Gandalf’s Fist announced that Galligan would voice a character on their album The Clockwork Fable.
Galligan has done extensive interviews and TV appearances about his experiences working on these popular films, and loves to interact with his considerable fan base- with over 30,000 followers over his various social media accounts, he conducts regular viewing parties to rewatch his films alongside his fans, tweeting in real time as he watches. With over 75 acting credits to his name, Galligan has proven how dedicated he is to the world of acting, and his most recent project, Little Willy and Bad Candy, were released only in 2020.
