Zhou Yuelong

Born on January 24, 1998, in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, Zhou Yuelong became a professional snooker player in 2014. His career began with early success, notably winning the 2013 World Amateur Championship at the age of 15. Two years later, at 17, he made a significant impact by winning the World Cup as part of China’s all-teenage B team alongside Yan Bingtao, defeating Scotland in the final. This early achievement showcased his potential and marked him as a rising talent in the sport. He reached the last 16 of the UK Championship in 2016 and advanced to his first ranking event semi-final at the European Masters in 2017, where he lost to Stuart Bingham.

Throughout his career, Zhou Yuelong has reached four ranking finals. These include the European Masters in 2020, where he faced a 0-9 defeat to Neil Robertson, and the Snooker Shoot Out in 2020, losing to Michael Holt. In 2022, he reached the Northern Ireland Open final, leading Mark Allen 4-1 before ultimately losing 9-4. His most recent ranking final appearance was at the 2025 English Open, where he again faced Mark Allen, losing a close match 9-8. These consistent performances illustrate his competitive presence at the highest levels of snooker.

Zhou has also achieved notable milestones such as making his first 147 break at the Indian Open in 2019 and recording his first win at the Crucible in the World Championship in 2018 by defeating Mark Allen. He reached his first Triple Crown semi-final at the UK Championship in 2020. With three maximum breaks in his career as of 2025, Zhou Yuelong continues to compete at a high level, consistently ranking among the top players.
